About the vLARC Partnership
In partnership with TennCare, Stellar Rx is proud to support the Voluntary Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (vLARC) program, aimed at decreasing barriers to contraception for members. We help make these important healthcare options more readily available at the point of care.
Through our proprietary XpeDose™ smart dispensing cabinet, we manage a free, fully-stocked inventory of vLARC products directly in provider offices. This system facilitates real-time claims processing and ensures that TennCare members have same-day access to the contraceptive care they need, simplifying the process for both patients and providers.
Program Highlights
- Free Setup & Equipment: Stellar installs and maintains the XpeDose™ system in your office or clinic at no cost. We remotely monitor and replenish a complete vLARC inventory as needed.
- Point-of-Care Access: Enables providers to offer women the vLARC she chooses in a single visit no need to schedule additional appointments.
- Secure Medication Storage: Medications are safely stored and available for point-of-care use. A designated staff member will be trained to remove the desired vLARC from the XpeDose™ for TennCare and CoverKids members.
- Immediate Claims Processing: XpeDose™ software immediately adjudicates vLARC claims to the pharmacy benefit. The provider bills the patient's MCO for vLARC administration and patient visit only.
How It Works
From prescription to administration in approximately 20 minutes
Select Contraceptive Option
During the office visit, the patient and provider select an appropriate contraceptive option.
eRx & Queue
If a vLARC is selected, provider sends eRx to Stellar's Pharmacy for processing. Upon approval, Stellar sends message back to XpeDose™ that Rx has been approved. The patient's name and information is now in the XpeDose™ queue and vLARC is ready to be removed by the provider.
Scan & Dispense
Provider selects patient's name and product from the queue, XpeDose™ door opens. The product codes and serial numbers are scanned and a dispensing label prints, meeting all federal and state dispensing requirements.

vLARC is now ready for administration in a convenient single visit. No need to schedule additional appointments.
